Sand County Foundation Announces New Communications Director

MADISON – Sand County Foundation has named Casey Langan its communications director.

Langan joins Sand County Foundation with more than 20 years of experience in public relations and agricultural journalism.

Sand County Foundation, based in Madison, is the nation’s leading voice for conservation on working lands. The non-profit conservation group works with farmers, ranchers, foresters and other private landowners to improve soil health, water quality and wildlife habitat on their land.

“With a strong background in agriculture and communications, Casey is uniquely qualified for this role,” said Chris Schellpfeffer, Sand County Foundation’s Vice President of External Relations.

Langan recently served as the spokesman for Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s energy efficiency and renewable energy program.

He previously served as the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation’s spokesman and public relations director. He was also a research assistant for former State Representative Debi Towns, and a reporter for The Country Today and the Daily Jefferson County Union newspapers.

“I’m passionate about raising awareness of the conservation work being done by rural America’s landowners,” Langan said.

Langan, his wife Amanda, and their son, live in Edgerton.
