Bob Perschel Joins Sand County Foundation Board

MADISON, Wis. – Bob Perschel of Massachusetts has joined the board of directors of the Sand County Foundation, a national nonprofit working at the intersection of agriculture and environmental improvement.

Perschel is a distinguished leader in forest conservation and environmental management. He served as the New England Forestry Foundation’s Executive Director where he oversaw initiatives aimed at preserving and managing forest lands, ensuring sustainable practices, and protecting critical forest habitats.

“We are thrilled to bring Bob’s extensive forest conservation leadership and perspective to our board,” said Kevin McAleese, Sand County Foundation President and CEO.

Perschel’s professional experience includes more than a decade at The Wilderness Society, where his work focused on advancing land ethics and regional conservation strategies. He chaired the Northern Forest Alliance, and co-founded the Forest Stewards Guild, serving as its Eastern Forests Director.

Perschel chairs the Maine Mountains Collaborative and the Exemplary Forestry Investment Fund, and serves on the steering committee of Wildlands, Woodlands, Farmlands and Communities.

He holds a Master of Forestry Science from Yale.
